JUMUM – Jugend und Musik und Museum – freely translated as Youth and Music and Museum sees its mission in exploring Operetta from various points of view, in its musical form and historical significance The Museum aspect of the project will present the diversity of operetta in its historical context and will try to capture the creative process by viewing the knowledge of the past, combined with experiences of the present to suggest and promote the possible future of this theatrical form.
The exhibition “OPERETTTA!” will try to utilise modern museological methods to guide the visitors of all ages and backgrounds, using an interactive and hands-on approach, though the proposed 10 steps of the history and creation of operetta.
The opening of the exhibition and the first performances of the new short operettas will take place in Bad Ischl within the 50th anniversary of the Lehar festival.
