Museum of Recent History in Celje/Slovenia
The mission of the museum is the permanent protection, preservation, research, presentation, exhibition and popularisation of movable cultural heritage from the beginning of the 20th century onwards, with particular attention devoted to young visitors. The museum is in touch with actual movements and methods found in the modern museology and is a partner in many national and international projects, not only in the field of museology.
The museum is responsible for the conception and realisation of the exhibition of the history of music theatre and operetta, in intensive cooperation with its partners in Bad Ischl, Eggenfelden and Warshaw. The interdisciplinary aspect of exhibiting music theatre by using and developing modern methods and museology concepts is of great European interest
The JUMUM exibition »OPERETTA!« will take place in 3 different adaptations. The opening will be in Bad Ischl, using the Lehárvilla, town museum and Trinkhalle as venues, followed by Eggenfelden were it will be displayed in the new exhibition hall in the Schlossökonomie Hofmark Gern. Here the local 48 years of operetta history wil be integrated into the exhibition. The final and permanent exhibition will be Celje, were it will be updated
House of Culture Celje as a partner of the Museum of Recent History in Celje will support the newly composed Sloveniona operetta both musically as well as in production.
